Far too often we hear from property managers, building superintendents, owners and board members these three words “We didn’t know”.
The challenge is that most haven’t read the fire code, and an equal number haven’t read their fire safety plan.
One of the primary goals of IN2FIRECODE is to provide and support property managers, building superintendents, board members and stakeholders in meeting the fire code.
Finding alternative compliance methods is one such way we are finding cost-effective solutions.
If you have asked one of the following questions, then our solution is exactly what you’ve been looking for.
Does the fire panel need to be checked daily?
How do I check the fire panel in a cost-effective way, especially if I don’t have site staff available?
Do I have to check the fire panel if my building is empty (ie,. evenings and weekends/holidays)?
If I am building a new building, do I still need to check the panel each day?
My fire panel is monitored. Do I still need to check it each day?
How can a camera solution be acceptable to the fire department?
How much does a system like this cost?
The Fire Code is very specific, in that the panel must be checked each day. Moreover, the Fire Code requires the data of this check to be available, for up to two years.
Monitoring of the Fire Panel does not absolve you of meeting this part of the Fire Code.
The Fire Code does not distinguish between a building that is tenanted or a portion of the time or full time. If there is a fire panel, it must be checked daily.
Fire Departments and Fire Prevention Officers and Departments understand that the Fire Code must have some level of flexibility, which is why they have adopted alternative solutions.
Simply install a camera in front of the Fire Alarm Panel, and set it up to send a picture daily to a designated email address. A unique subject line is provided for each address. If you require assistance with the install, we have partners who can assist with the installation and set-up.
IN2FIRECODE sends a picture of the panel via email to a cloud-based system. For less than a dollar a day, you can check the panel, which catalogs who undertook the task, the time and the day. Additionally, a script is run daily to ensure that the task of checking the image is met. A dashboard is created for any variation, whether you are managing a single site, or have multiple locations across a province or country, you can drill down and see in real-time, that you are in compliance.
Reporting can be downloaded, printed or emailed, all with the click of a button.
Looking for a turn-key solution? We can undertake the daily review of your site, for an additional dollar a day.
